The United States Army awarded the Distinguished Service Cross to Colonel HOMER L. LITZENBERG for his extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy during the period 29 November 1950 to 4 December 1950. His actions contributed materially to the break-through of the 7th Regiment, in the Choisin Reservoir area and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service.
General Litzenberg joined the Legion of Valor in 1962. He is one of a very few to receive both the Navy Cross and the Distinguished Service Cross. View General Litzenbergs Navy Cross.
