Lieutenant Commander Allen J. Huttenberg, USNR holds the unusual distinction of membership in that small body of extraordinarily heroic sailors who received Navy Crosses from Admiral Nimitz on 7 April 1942. The presentations were made aboard one of the battleships attacked at Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941 and all were to recognize the feats of extraordinary heroism performed under Japanese attack on that day of infamy. Mr. Huttenberg was serving as a junior officer of the deck, USS Nevada, at the time of the attack and was wounded during the action.

Lieutenant Commander Huttenberg joined the L.O.V. in 1978 and resides in Flordia.
