LTG EDWARD W. SNEDEKER, received the Navy Cross for his heroism at Okinawa as commander of the 7th Marines, June 2-22, 1945. He undertook an aerial reconnaissance of the area of Kunishi Ridge and planned and executed a daring attack by night, and taking the enemy by surprise, succeeded in destroying the resistance.

Mr. Snedeker was a member since 1955 and resided in Southern California.
