DONALD B. BLAISDELL, Private First Class, Corps of Engineers, United States Army. For meritorious service in connection with military operations against the enemy at Cebu, Philippine Islands, from 31 March to 18 April 1945. Private Blaisdell was a member of a demolition team which was employed in the destruction of enemy emplacements, the clearing of mines and booby traps and the sealing of gun emplacements and caves. They also acted as security for a bulldozer operating in the foward area. Private Blaisdell, with complete disregard for his own safety, was instrumental in saving the lives of many of the infantrymen by the removal of these obstacles and aided in the success of the operation.
Mr. Blaisdell joined the Legion of Valor in 1985.
