LCDR CHARLES O. DODSON, U.S. Navy, was awarded the Navy Cross for distinguished himself by extraordinary heroism in action while serving as a carrier-based fighter pilot during operations against capital shipping in the Japanese Island sea area on July 25, 1945.

CMDR Dodson joined the Legion of Valor in 1985.
