CPT Andre E PecquetCAPTAIN ANDRE E. PECQUET, (then First Lieutenant), Army of the United States, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy as a member of the Special Operations Branch, Office of Strategic Services Detachment, European Theater of Operations from 28 June 1944 to 7 October 1944. Captain Pecquet, after having been parachuted into France, successfully estabalished and maintained two-way radio contact, transmitting valuable operational and intelligence information. Changing to civilian clothes, Captain Pecquet made dangerous reconnaissance trips into villages and reported to headquarters the disposition of enemy troops and installations. With the arrival of the United States forces, he assured the effective cooperation of the French. The devotion to duty, perseverance and courage displayed by Captain Pecquet throughout this hazardous assignment reflect great credit upon himself and the armed forces of the United States.

Mr. Pecquet lived in Paris, and had been a member of the Legion of Valor since 1985.
