LTC HENRY F. ROUSE was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for actions as a First Lieutenant, 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion near Venafro, Italy on November 11, 1943. He cleared mines from the route of advance under intense enemy fire. He then led his two men through machine gun, sniper, and artillery fire to silence an enemy machine gun holding up the advance. He served in 10 campaigns during World War II as well as in Korea and Vietnam.
