Lt. Col. RAYMOND C. HUNT, recieved the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in action in the Philippine Islands from 21 April 1942 to 30 April 1945. Following his escape from the enemy early in 1942, the then Captain Hunt organized two companies of guerrillas and became the executive Officer for LGAF-USAFFE in Tarlac Province. Gathering scattered arms, his men cleared the area of roving bandit gangs. Accepting the command of Pangasinan Province 20 June 1944, he carried on propaganda work among civilians and instituted intelligence activities. His troops started all-out operations against the foe four days prior to the landing of American Forces at Lingayen Gulf. Participating in the attack on an enemy garrison at San Quintin, Pangasinan, on 5 January 1945, he infiltrated their lines to gain valuable combat intelligence and establish a communication center for G-2 reports from several neighboring provinces. By his ability, initiative, courage and qualities of leadership, while engaged in activities with the Luzon Guerrilla Army Forces, Captain Hunt materially aided American operations in the Philippine Islands.
LTC. Hunt joined the Legion of Valor in 1961 and resided in Florida.
