1SG. KENNETH NED SPRECHER received the Distinguished Service Cross as a First Sergeant for actions with the parachute infantry in Normandy on June 11, 1944. His company was pinned down by intense enemy machine gun fire and the company commander was knocked unconscious by the concussion from a mortar shell. Sergeant Sprecher reorganized the company and personally led a bayonet charge to gain the objective.

1SG. Sprecher joined the L.O.V. in 1968 and resided in Ohio.
