FRED R. HARRIS, received the Navy Cross for his extraordinary heroism while serving as Flight Deck Officer aboard the U.S. aircraft carrier Benjamin Franklin when the ship was struck by a Japanese aerial bomb.

Mr. Harris joined the Legion of Valor in 1977 and resided in Texas.
