JAMES A. CRAIG, JR., Infantry, 1st Battalion, 317th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division, United States Army. For extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy. On 11 November 1944, Major Craig personally led a small group of the 1st Battalion, 317th Infantry to capture, intact, the one remaining bridge over the Nied River near Han-Sur-Nied, France.
