MATTHEW F. RUGGIERO, received the Distinguished Service Cross for his extraordinary heroism while acting as squad leader, C Co., Infantry at Oberhoffen, France, 9-10 February 1945.

Mr. Ruggiero joined the Legion of Valor in 1946 and resided in New Jersey.
