ROY YEAGER, Co. D, 321st M.G. Bn., 82nd Division, World War 1, was awarded the D.S.C., for extraordinary heroism in action against the enemy near Pont-a-Mousson, France, September 12, 1918. His brother Louis was also awarded the D.S.C., during the same action. Roy Yeager,with his brother Louis , remained at an advanced position in the face of heavy machine-gun and rifle fire from the enemy, and by effective use of their machine gun and pistols covered the withdrawal of the infantry, inflicting serious losses on the enemy and refusing to retire until ordered to do so.
