Henry Chester Hine Jr

Henry Chester Hine, Jr. DSC. SYNOPSIS: Colonel (Infantry) Henry Chester Hine, Jr., United States Army, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving as Commanding Officer, 168th Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division, in action against enemy forces from 16 to 21 October 1944. Colonel Hine’s outstanding leadership, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, the 34th Infantry Division, and the United States Army. Colonel Hine passed away 1 Mar 1989.
Henry Hine graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1920. Following his distinguished service during World War II, from 1948 to 1950 he served as the United States Army Representative in the United Kingdom.
