CAPTAIN BRUCE CLEVELAND SHEARON, United States Navy for heroic and distinguished service in the line of his profession as pilot of a torpedo plane in action against Japanese forces in the Coral Sea on May 8, 1942. He pressed home his attack against an enemy aircraft in spite of heavy anti-aircraft fire and heavy enemy fighter opposition. His determined and fearless attack resulted in a hit, thereby contributing to the damage and possible destruction of the carrier and to the victory attained by our forces.

CAPT. Shearon was a life member and resided in California. He joined the L.O.V. in 1986.
