LTC DAVID V. BINKLEY, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross in World War I while a private in Company I, 168th Infantry, 42nd Division for extraordinary heroism at Hill 212, near Sergy, northeast of Chateau-Thierry, France, on July 28, 1918. He rescued his corporal who was severly wounded in front of the lines.
LTC Binkley had been an member of the Legion of Valor since 1933 and resided in Pennsylvania.
