DOUGLAS A. BOTTS, a member of the Legion of Valor since 1947, was awarded the Navy Cross for throwing hot unexploded shells and unburned powder charges overboard while raging fire was in progress.

Mr. Botts is buried at the National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
