Frank P. Garofano, was in the 502d Parachute Infantry Regiment and, as a Private First Class, was cited for his extraordinary heroism on 19 September 1944 near Best, Holland. Using only his machine gun and grenades he effected the surrender of 93, wounded 30 and killed 9.

Mr. Garafano was a Life Member and resided in Florida.
