George Thorngate

George Thorngate, received the Distinguished Service Cross in recognition of his extraordinary heroism near Romagne, France 14-15 October 1918. Then a First Lieutenant with the 6th Infantry,2nd Division, he was seriously wounded in action. He displayed marked devotion to duty by refusing medical evacuation and remaining in command of his company.

Dr. Thorngate joined the Legion of Valor in 1979 and resided in Northern California.
