COLONEL GLENN JOSEPH DOMAN, (then 2nd Lt.) Infantry, Co. K, 346th Inf., 87th Infantry Division. Awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy in Belgium. On the night of 7 January 1945, Lt. Doman three times entered the enemy-held town of Tillet, Belgium, to obtain information of enemy dispositions. When his company attacked the following morning, he personally led the assault platoon, inspiring his men by his bold, fearless leadership. When orders were received to withdraw, he personally covered his men with automatic rifle fire. The fearless determination and courageous devotion to duty Lt. Doman displayed exemplify the highest traditions of the military service.
