Commander JAMES R. WALKER , USN, recieved the Navy Cross for his extraordinary heroism while serving in Helicopter Attack (Light) Squadron Three on station in Vietnam. As Detachment Gunship Fire Team Leader, Commander Walker flew 360 Close Air Support Missions and 111 Combat Support Missions in patrol, surveillance, and rescue actions.

CMDR. Walker joined the L.O.V. in 1979.
