20 June 1927, for fearless devotion to duty as signalman in maintaining uninterrupted communications between the American Consulate Nanking, China and the Naval vessels in the harbor, although constantly exposed to rifle and machine gun fire from Chinese soldiers.

Mr. Wilson resided in Washington State and had been a life member of the Legion of Valor since 1937.
