JOSEPH F. MANNION, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in action near Verdun, France, on October 11, 1918. He volunteered and left his place of safety to go to the aid of wounded men while the enemy was delivering terrific machine gun and artillery fire.
Mr. Mannion joined the Legion of Valor in 1927 and was a LIFE MEMBER. He was the Legion of Valor National Commander 1947-1948, and resided in Maryland.
