Oswald J Hedlund

OSWALD J. HEDLUND, U.S.M.C., for extraordinary heroism while serving with the First Marine Division against the Japanese on Cape Gloucester, New Britain, on January 6, 1944. While a member of a combat patrol and under heavy enemy fire, he went forward and dragged the wounded gunner and assistant gunner to safety. Then he went forward again with his machine gun to stop an enemy charge.

Mr. Hedlund has been a member since 1964.
