Lt. Commander ROSWELL C. PEARDON, was awarded the Navy Cross for action during World War I when he served in sub-chasers. His Navy Cross came for distinguished service in the line of his profession as Assistant to the Commander, Sub-chaser Detachment One and as Hydroplane Officer. Much of the success of the listening devices and the training of officers in their use was due to him.

Commander Peardon joined the Legion of Valor in 1962 and resided in Pennsylvania.
