Vinton Walsh Dove

VINTON WALSH DOVE, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for actions on D-Day, June 6, 1944, in France where he landed with his bulldozer and, finding conditions on the beach behind schedule, he pulled numerous wheeled vehicles and track-propelled vehicles out of the surf. Then, although a target, he cleared a road at beach exits E-1 and E-3.

Mr. Dove also received the Croix de Guerre with Palm. He resided in Virginia and joined the Legion of Valor in 1960.
