WALTER H. TODD, G.M.3c, United States Navy, received the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism and devotion to duty as a member of a party of volunteers under Lieut. Conolly, which went on board the U.S.S. WESTBRIDGE after that vessel had been torpedoed on August 15th, 1918, and remained on board under difficult conditions, until the vessel was brought into port.
Mr. Todd resided in Central California and was enrolled into the Legion of Valor by his son, Commander Walter Todd Jr., in 2005.
