WILLIAM H. WELLEN, JR., was awarded the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism as a pilot of a bomber plane in a daring strike against the enemy fleet in the East China Sea on April 7, 1945.

Mr. Wellen was a LIFE MEMBER of the Legion of Valor and resided in Massachusetts.
